Volleyball stumbles at LVC

ANNVILLE, Pa. - The Hood College volleyball team was defeated by a Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth foe Lebanon Valley 3-0.

  • The Dutchmen won 25-19, 25-13, 25-14.

How it Happened

  • The Dutchmen took a 16-6 lead in the first set before a 9-4 run by Hood cut the deficit to 20-15. The Blazers pulled within five two more times in the set, including an ace from Elizondo that made it 23-18 but could get no closer. 
  • LVC started fast again in the second set, claiming an early 12-4 lead and cruising to the 2-0 lead in the match. 
  • Another ace by Elizondo brought the Blazers within 12-10 in the third set before the Dutchmen stretched the lead to 19-11.

Notes

  • Reily Shelly and Jayna Class combined for 27 kills and just one error for Lebanon Valley, including a match-high 15 kills by Shelly. 
  • Emily Bartlett had 40 assists.
