Women's track and field in action at Widener

CHESTER, Pa. - The Hood College women's track and field team had its final tune-up for the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships at the Widener University Invitational. 


  • Sam Plinke had personal bests in the 100 and 200-meter dashes. She ran a 13.89 in the 100 and a 28.52 in the 200. 
  • Gretchen Young turned in a personal best in the 100 of 13.76. Both she and Plinke qualified for the MAC Championships in the event.
  • Ebony Pitt's 8.74-meter (28-8 1/4) throw in the shot put was a career-best. 
  • Lauren Fancella ran a 21:38.55 in the 5,000-meter run for a personal best. 


  • Hood tied for 28th at the meet. 
  • TCNJ won the meet with 100.5 points.
