Women's swimming falls in tri-meet

GRANTHAM, Pa. - The Hood College swim team fell at Messiah in a Middle Atlantic Conference tri-meet featuring Widener. 


  • Messiah defeated Hood 173-98. 
  • Widener defeated Hood 198-80. 

Top Finishers

  • Ann Coleman, Melissa Jacobs, Victoria Plaudis and Danielle Pong each recorded a second-place finish to lead the Blazers. 
  • Coleman was second, by less than a second, in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:06.61. 
  • Jacobs was the runner-up in the 200 back in 2:22.10. Coleman was barely half a second behind in third place. 
  • In the 200-yard breaststroke, Plaudis swam a time of 2:40.23 to take second place. 
  • Pong captured second in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:12.20. Kate Sanborn was third in the event with a 1:13.93.
