Women's swimming falls in season opener

FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College women's swim team dropped its season and Middle Atlantic Conference opener at home against Arcadia 170-92.

How it Happened

  • Ann Coleman won three times, claiming victories in the 200-yard backstroke in 2:23.36, the 100 back in 1:05.85. She placed third in the 100 fly in 1:06.27.
  • Coleman's third win came in the 200 medley relay where she was joined by Molly Cronin, Kate Sanborn, and Danielle Pong in 1:58.60.
  • Pong picked up a second win in the 100 breaststroke in 1:11.87. Sanborn was second in that event with a time of 1:12.72.
  • Ashley Coppage was second in the 200 fly in 2:28.63.
  • Cronin placed second in both the 200 back (2:26.23) and the 200 IM (2:25.85).
  • Victoria Plaudis picked up a win in the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:39.79. Sanborn was second in that event with a time of 2:42.48.
  • Plaudis placed third in the 200 free in 2:09.23.
  • Pong was third in the 100 free in 1:00.77.
