FREDERICK, Md.--Junior Erica Hamor of the women's swim team has been selected as the Hood College Athlete of the Week for the week ending Jan. 18.
The native of Nanjemoy, Md., played a crucial role in Hood's first Capital Athletic Conference victory of the season Saturday over Gallaudet University. Hood trailed the Bison by one point heading into the final two events, the 100 breaststroke and the 400 free relay. Hamor swam a season-best time of 1:16.19 to edge Gallaudet's Carlisle Robinson in the 100 breaststroke by 0.75 seconds. She then anchored the 400 free relay squad which crushed the Bison foursome by 1:11.42 to clinch a 12-point triumph for Hood. Hamor was also victorious in the 200 IM (2:28.03).
