ANNVILLE, Pa. - Hood College's Kristy Erfurdt was named to the first team to lead four Blazers on the All-Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth teams.
Erfurdt, a senior shortstop, ranked fourth in the conference in runs scored (39) and fifth in hits (42). She led the Blazers with a .353 batting average, .421 on-base percentage and struck out just eight times in 119 at-bats. Erfurdt tallied seven doubles, three homers, 15 runs batted in and 14 walks. She had 13 multi-hit games, including five games of three hits. It is Erfurdt's third career All-MAC Commonwealth selection.
Scott, Erfurdt's double-play partner, is making her first appearance on the All-MAC Commonwealth team as a senior. The Blazers' leadoff hitter for much of the year, Scott drew a team-high 20 walks to rank third in the conference. She hit .299 and her .419 on-base percentage rated second on the team. Scott scored 25 runs and added 32 hits, five doubles, one home run and 12 RBIs. She had 10 multi-hit games, including a pair of three-hit efforts.
Leaman earned honorable mention as an outfielder. The senior batted .342 with a .403 on-base percentage. She tied for second on the team with 21 RBIs and had 40 hits, 17 runs, seven doubles and two homers. She had 11 multi-hit games, including four straight during the Blazers' spring break trip to Arizona. Also Hood's number two pitcher, she is tied for second in the conference with 10 victories. She had nine complete games, 58 strikeouts and a 4.00 earned run average. It is her second career all-conference nod.
Paugh was named All-MAC Commonwealth as an honorable mention as a utility player. She finished fifth in the conference with six home runs and led Hood with 27 RBIs. She batted .336 with a .558 slugging percentage to go along with 17 runs, seven doubles and 38 hits. As a pitcher, she won eight games and posted a 2.55 earned run average. She pitched 14 complete games and struck out 56. She had nine multi-hit games and hit four home runs in conference play. She pitched shutouts against Shenandoah, Alvernia and Widener. It is Paugh's first career appearance on the All-MAC Commonwealth team.
The four players helped the Blazers to a 19-17 record in the regular season. Hood went 9-7 in the MAC Commonwealth and earned the four-seed in the upcoming conference playoffs on May 4-6 at Lebanon Valley.
