ANNVILLE, Pa. - Hood College's Michael Riley was named the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth Player of the Week after helping the men's basketball team secure the No. 2 seed in the upcoming conference tournament.
Riley averaged 22 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.0 steals and 2.5 assists per game in a 2-0 week, including a win over top-seeded Arcadia. Riley finished the week shooting 52 percent (14-for-27) from the field and 65 percent (11-for-17) from behind the arc. In a 90-74 win at Stevenson, Riley scored 22 points on 7-for-11 shooting (6-for-9 from behind the arc) with four steals, three assists and three rebounds. The junior followed that with 22 points, 10 rebounds, four steals and two assists in a 91-81 win over Arcadia to secure the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament.
The Blazers will host Widener in a MAC Commonwealth Semifinal on Wednesday, February 20 at 7 p.m.
