FREDERICK, Md.--Junior forward J'Air Brady of the men's basketball team has been selected as the Hood College Athlete of the Week for the week ending Nov. 16.
Brady averaged 19.5 points and 4.5 rebounds for the Blazers, who finished third in the Lycoming College Tip-Off Tournament. The native of Frederick and former standout at Gov. Thomas Johnson High School represented Hood on the Lycoming all-tournament team.
Brady led all scorers with 24 points to go along with five rebounds, three assists and two steals in Hood's 96-79 triumph over Penn State-Hazelton in the consolation game of the two-day tournament. He also registered a team-high 15 points and three more assists against eventual tournament champion Scranton.
Earning starts in both contests, Brady averaged 34.5 minutes per game, tops on the squad in the opening weekend.
The Blazers (1-1) next travel to Lebanon Valley College for the Rinso Marquette Tournament Friday and Saturday.
