FREDERICK, Md. - A goal in the 57th minute broke a scoreless tie and gave Neumann a 2-1 win over the Hood College field hockey team.

How it Happened

  • Neumann almost took the lead in the 24th minute, but Rowe made a defensive save to keep the game scoreless.
  • Again, a Hood defensive save kept the score at a stalemate when Cordero blocked a shot on the line in the 29th.
  • Cencetti snuck a shot past the goalkeeper in the 43rd minute after receiving a pass from Hannah Armstrong that put the Blazers up 1-0. 
  • In the start of the fourth quarter, Neumann's Bri Lagroteria assisted Erica D'Mello who brought the score to a 1-1 deadlock.
  • With just over three minutes in regulation, Tiffany Flowers took a penalty corner towards Sam Picker who set up Nani Espada's game-winning score for the Knights.

Notes

  • Lizzie Yu had nine saves in cage after full time for the Knights.
