Cameron Rogers of the men's swim team and women's track and field's Jackie Mangogna are the Hood College Athletes of the Week for February 1, 2016.
Rogers won the 100-yard freestyle and claimed second in the 200 free. A junior, he opened the day with a second place finish in the 200 free with a time of 1:52.21. He later claimed a win by nearly 11 seconds in the 500 with a time of 4:55.78.
Mangogna broke the indoor school record in the long jump to lead the Blazers at the John Covert Classic, hosted by Lehigh. She leapt 16 feet, three and a quarter inches (4.96 meters) to break the old indoor mark of 16-1 1/2 (4.91m), set by Ashley Barnes in 2013. Mangogna finished ninth in the event, but was fifth among Division III competitors.
