A pair of soccer players are the Hood College Athletes of the Week for the period ending October 25, as Drew Demich earns the men's award and Rachel Knoebel picks up women's honors.
Demich continues his prolific scoring season as he reclaimed the national scoring lead with a three-goal week. He scored the game-winner against Alvernia, then added two goals against first place Lycoming. For the year, he has 21 goals and six game-winners.
Knoebel turned in a pair of strong efforts in net for the Blazers, both 1-0 losses. She had six saves against Alvernia, then turned in a career-high 11 at Lycoming. For the week, she had 17 saves and a .894 save percentage.
