Drew Demich of the men's soccer team and the women's tennis third doubles pairing of Meaghan Donahue and Aubrey Fetters are the Hood College Athletes of the Week for the period ending October 11.
Demich set Hood's career goal scoring record with his 31st career goal during a two-goal performance in a 3-0 win over Juniata. The junior then scored his second game-winning goal of the week in a 1-0 double-overtime win at conference foe Albright. Demich scored the goal with two second left in the second overtime. Demich leads the nation with his 18th goal of the year.
Donahue and Fetters, who each advanced to the quarterfinals in singles play, became the first tennis players to advance to the finals of the Middle Atlantic Conference Individual Championships since the Blazers joined the league. After a pair of wins on the tournament's first day, Fetters and Donahue opened the final day in the semifinals against Alanna Denauski and Lauren West of Wilkes. The Blazers dispated the Colonels' pairing 8-3, to advance to the finals. In the finals, Fetters and Donahue faced another duo from Wilkes, Olivia Hewison and Madison Salmon. Hewison and Salmon scored an 8-1 win over Fetters and Donahue to win the third doubles championship.
