FREDERICK, Md. - Heather Silveira (Baltimore, Md. / Chesapeake) of the women's track and field team and Kole Hearn (Seaford, Del. / Sussex Tech) of the baseball team are the Hood College Athletes of the Week for the week ending on April 19.
Silveira continued her record-breaking senior year with two new Blazer records at the Mason-Dixon Invitational. Silveira broke both of her previous records in the 100-meter hurdles and the 400-meter hurdles. In the 100H, she crossed the line at 15.74, which breaks her initial record of 15.88. In the 400H she posted a 1:07.34, taking down her record of 1:07.56. She also took fifth in the triple jump with a mark of 33-4 3/4 (10.18).
Hearn threw his first career complete game and struck out a school record 11 batters in a 2-1 win over Central Penn. He allowed just five hits and did not walk a batter in the doubleheader sweep over the Knights.
