FREDERICK, Md. - Nicolas Aldana (Myersville, Md. / Middletown) of men's track & field and Chelsea Young (Walkersville, Md. / Walkersville) of the women's track & field team are the Hood College Athletes of the Week for the week ending on April 20, 2014.
During the Blazers' fourth place finish at the Mason Dixon Invitational, Aldana won the 110-meter hurdles and finished second in the 400 hurdles. The senior captured the title in the 110 hurdles in 15.76, then ran a 59.93 as the runner up in the 400 hurdles.
Young helped lead Hood to a second place at the Mason Dixon Invitational. She won the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:00.86. The senior also ran legs on victorious 4x100 and 4x400 relays. In the 4x100, the team won in 51.75. The 4x400 team crossed the line in 4:13.34. Young also finished second in both the 100 and 200. She turned in a time of 13.18 to finish second in the 100. In the 200, she ran the runner up time of 26.62. Young had a hand in 46 of Hood's 154 points.
