FREDERICK, Md. - Joseph McCulloh (Westminster, Md. / Winters Mill) of men's lacrosse and Sophie Grizzle (Brunswick, Md. / Brunswick) of the women's track & field team are the Hood College Athletes of the Week for the week ending on April 13, 2014.
McCulloh made a school record 34 saves against Stevenson. The mark is also the Division III season-high for saves in a game. He also recorded 14 ground balls in the contest. On Saturday, he made 12 saves in three quarters of action in the 21-3 win over Alvernia.
Over the two days of competition at the West Chester Invite, Grizzle broke the school record in the heptathlon. She scored 3,661 points to eclipse her previous mark by over 240 points. She finished fourth overall and was the highest Division III finisher. She won the heptathlon's 800 and was second in the high jump portion of the multi-event.
