FREDERICK, Md. - Cameron Cook (Baltimore, Md. / Calvert Hall) of men's basketball and Alexandra Dystant (Odenton, Md. / Arundel) of the women's track & field team are the Hood College Athletes of the Week for the week ending on February 2, 2014.
In the Blazers' 2-0 week Cook led in the team in scoring in both games, scoring a combined 41 points. Against Stevenson, he scored a game-high 18 points and was perfect from the charity stripe, going 8-of-8. Cook added team-highs with nine rebounds and three assists. He also recorded three steals and two blocks in the 63-62 win.
In the matchup against Arcadia, Cook had a team-high 23 points and hit six 3-pointers. He also added seven rebounds and two assists.
Dystant demolished the 3000-meter run school record at the Albright Invitational on Saturday. She crossed the line in 11:26.24 to win the event and set the record. The previous record was 11:41.68 set back in 2011 by Lauren Roesch.
