FREDERICK, Md. - Cameron Rogers (Severn, Md. / Archbishop Spalding) of men's swimming and Lauren Fogarty (Arnold, Md. / Broadneck) of the women's swimming team are the Hood College Athletes of the Week for the week ending November 10, 2013.
In the quad meet against Messiah, Widener, and FDU-Florham, Rogers helped the Blazers sweep by earning two victories and setting a pool record.
In the 1,650-yard freestyle Rogers cruised by the competition and won by over a minute with a time of 16:54.97, to set the pool record. That time puts him second in Hood swimming history.
Rogers' other win came in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:01.03, good for fourth in program history.
Earlier in the week, Rogers won the 1,000 freestyle against Elizabethtown touching the wall in 10:16.75.
Fogarty earned the lone victory for the Blazers on the day, and also came away with a second place finish.
Her win came in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:53.09, edging out the competition by under two seconds.
In the 1,650 freestyle Fogarty touched the wall in 19:17.72, which puts her third in program history.
Against Elizabethtown on November 6, Fogarty had two individual victories and was part of the winning 400 medley relay team, which finished in 4:20.48.
She swept both the 1,000 freestyle and 500 freestyle with times of 11:12.58 and 5:24.24 respectively.
