FREDERICK, Md. - BJ Daisey (Lewes, Del. / Sussex Tech) of men's swimming and volleyball's Amy Hagerdon (Berryville, Va. / Clarke County) are the Hood College Athletes of the Week for the week ending on October 13, 2013.
In his Hood debut Daisey helped his team to the program's first ever win over a Division I opponent, as the Blazers split a tri-meet between the Towson Tigers and the Howard Bison.
In the 202-53 victory over the Bison, Daisey had a second place finish in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:02.46. He also finished fourth in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:20.52 and fifth in the 200 IM in 2:09.45.
In four matches during the week Hagerdon led the Blazers in kills and digs, with one double-double. On October 8 against Elizabethtown, she recorded nine kills and 12 digs. Against Shenandoah on the 10th she had 13 kills, 11 digs, and added two aces.
In the match against Lycoming she added five kills, seven digs, one ace, and one solo block. Later that day she was credited with five kills, 10 digs, and one ace against Stevenson.
