FREDERICK, Md.--Junior Arielle Harding of the women's swim team and sophomore Andrew Bodine of the men's swim team have been selected as the Hood College Athletes of the Week for the week ending Dec. 12.
Harding earns her third weekly honor of the season after capturing top honors in the 50 fly (30.09), the 50 breast (32.88) and the 200 individual medley (2:28.06) against Marywood University Saturday. Harding also anchored the winning 200 medley relay team, which cruised to the win with a time of 2:06.85.
Harding has won 10 individual races in her first season with the Blazers. She has also been part of two first-place relay squads.
Bodine was also a triple winner in the Marywood meet for the Blazers, who won their second meet of the season and first since the season-opener versus Davis & Elkins. Bodine clinched the 200 free (1:56.75), 50 free (22.82) and the 50 backstroke (27.47) in addition to leading off the first-place 200 medley relay (1:46.57).
His three individual wins bring his season total to eight. Bodine is also undefeated in the 50 free on the year.
The Blazers will be idle until Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011 when Hood hosts Capital Athletic Conference rival Salisbury University at 2 p.m.
