FREDERICK, Md.--Senior midfielder Cara Jordan of the women's soccer team has been selected as the Hood College athlete of the week for the week ending Sept. 5.
Jordan scored the 29th and 30th goals of her career last week, one apiece versus Goucher and La Roche during a pair of Blazer shutouts.
In Hood's season-opener Wednesday, Jordan's score against the Gophers came in the 47th minute off a pass from sophomore Stevey Markovich to cap the scoring for the Blazers in a 3-0 victory.
Then against La Roche on Saturday, Jordan tacked on an unassisted insurance goal for the Blazers in the 69th minute in a 2-0 blanking of the Redhawks.
Jordan is ranked second all-time in program history in points (79) and goals (30). The Blazers have a busy week ahead with three games on the docket, including their CAC opener against the league's newest member, Frostburg State University, Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at Thomas Athletic Field.
