FREDERICK, Md.--Junior attack Kris Miner of the men's lacrosse team has been recognized as the Hood College athlete of the week for the week ending March 14.
Miner is the second member of the men's lacrosse team to earn this weekly honor this spring. In Hood's two games last week, the native of Clinton Township, Mich., doubled his scoring output from the first five games of the season.
Miner started the week netting four goals and netting an assist against Neumann University in a narrow 13-12 setback and added two more scores and an assist in Hood's decisive win over Cazenovia College Friday to close out the Blazers' five-game homestand.
Miner is currently tied for third on the team in scoring with 17 goals and is also tied for second in goals with 12. He also lists among the program's all-time leaders in goals, assists and points.
The Blazers (4-3) hit the road Wednesday for the first time since Feb. 24 to take on the Randolph College Wildcats (0-5). Face-off is slated for 5:30 p.m. Fans unable to travel to Lynchburg for the contest can follow along online using Randolph's livestats feature.
