FREDERICK, Md.--Junior guard Allyson Lethbridge of the women's basketball team has been chosen as the Hood College Athlete of the Week for the second time this season.
The native of Union Bridge, Md., led the Blazers to their first home victory of the season Friday against Philadelphia Biblical University at the Odom Fitness Center at Fort Detrick. The Blazers ended a three-game losing streak in the process to improve to 2-5 on the season.
Lethbridge averaged 12 points, seven rebounds, two steals and 33 minutes per game in Hood's two games last week. She recorded a team-high 16 points, including a pair of three-pointers, against the Crimson Eagles. Lethbridge also contributed a season-high eight rebounds as well as three steals and two assists in 30 minutes of work.
In Wednesday's road loss to the Goucher College Gophers, Lethbridge chipped in with eight points and six boards while pacing the team with 36 minutes played.
A starter in all seven games for the blue and greay, Lethbridge leads the team in scoring (15.3 ppg), minutes played (34.7 mpg) and three-pointers (10). She is currently 10th all-time at Hood in scoing with 657 points in addition to ranking fifth in career three-pointers (69) and 10th in career steals (108).
Hood (2-5, 0-2 CAC) next travels to Stevenson University (1-6, 0-2 CAC) for a 5 p.m. Capital Athletic Conference contest.
