Blazers Recognized by USTFCCCA For Academic Excellence
NEW ORLEANS, La.--The Hood College women's cross country team has been recognized for the fifth straight season by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for its academic excellence.
Hood was one of 156 Division III women's programs to maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.10 and compete at an NCAA Regional Meet. One of only two Capital Athletic Conference women's programs to earn this distinction (Salisbury University was the other), Hood listed 66th of the 156 schools with a team GPA of 3.438. A total of 22 colleges from the mideast region were among those honored.
"The women did a great job," said head coach Brent Ayer. "This marks the fifth consecutive honor in the five-year history of the program. They have been consistently among the strongest academic teams both on campus and within the CAC."
