FREDERICK, Md. -- Junior Danielle Sgro was named as the Capital Athletic Conference Women’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week for the week ending Oct. 28.

Sgro finished first overall in Hood’s tri-meet against Southern Virginia and Villa Julie last weekend, besting 22 runners in the 5k in 20:26. Hood’s women had lost twice to Villa Julie earlier this year.

Sgro, a native of Indiana, Pa., has been Hood’s top finisher in every race this season.

The Blazers return to action Saturday in the CAC Championships at York College (Pa.) in York, Pa.
