FREDERICK, Md.--Junior Danielle Sgro won the 2007 Hood College Tri-Match Saturday, besting the field of 22 runners in a time of 20:26 in the 5K race.

Hood won the invitational with 38 points, three better than second-place Villa Julie College and six better than third-place Southern Virginia University.

Freshman Lauren Smith took runner-up honors with a time of 20:43 and senior Sara Stiles was eighth in 22:56. Sophomore Lisa Blickenstaff (24:28) and senior April Penn (24:30) came in 13th and 14th, respectively to round out the Hood scorers.

Hood next travels to York, Pa., for the 2007 Capital Athletic Conference championships Saturday Nov. 3.
