FREDERICK, Md.--The visiting Villa Julie College Mustangs (12-3, 1-2 CAC) defeated the Hood College volleyball team 3-0 (15-30, 18-30, 20-30) Tuesday evening in a Capital Athletic Conference match at Gambrill Gymnasium.

Freshman Chelsea Weaver paced the Blazers (2-13, 0-3 CAC) with nine kills and 11 digs while classmate Kristina Straub recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 15 assists and 17 digs. Senior Jamie Bussey tallied 24 digs, the fourth time this season she has racked up 20+ digs. Sophomore Leah Garland also turned in a solid defensive effort with 16 digs.

Hood returns to action Thursday at Salisbury University for a CAC match at 7 p.m.
