Volleyball Falls to Mountain State, Lynchburg
LYNCHBURG, Va.--The Hood College volleyball team dropped a pair of non-conference matches this afternoon to Mountain State University, 3-1 (15-30, 30-28, 21-30, 12-30), and Lynchburg College, 3-0 (19-30, 22-30, 18-30). The Blazers are now 5-14 overall on the season.
In the first match with the Cougars, Lindsey Nagy put down 11 kills and had 13 digs while Jamie Bussey tallied a team-high 24 digs. Caroline Woodhams set up 28 Blazer kills and had seven digs while Hilary Cook and Ashley Bryan contributed seven kills apiece.
Then against Lynchburg, Nagy once again topped the Blazer kill chart with nine and Jamie Gardner added a pair of kills and 10 digs.
The Blazers have concluded their regular season slate and return to action Saturday, Nov. 4, when they serve as hosts for the 2006 Atlantic Women's Colleges Conference tournament. The one-day championship will feature four matches--two semi-finals, a consolation and a championship--beginning at 10 a.m. at Hood's Gambrill Gymnasium.
