Mangogna, Pitts, Stetsyuk Victorious at Frostburg State

FROSTBURG, Md. - Three different Hood College student-athletes won events to lead the Blazers at the Bobcat Invitational at Frostburg State. 

How it Happened

  • Jackie Mangogna won the high jump, clearing 4-9 3/4 (1.47 meters), over three inches higher than the runner up. She leapt 15-0 1/4 (4.58 meters) to finish third in the long jump.
  • Danielle Pitts won the discus with a throw of 99-9 1/2 (30.42 meters). She was also fourth in the shot put with a mark of 31-0 (9.45 meters).
  • Karina Stetsyuk won the 5,000-meter run in 20:35.28, defeating the field by over 30 seconds.
  • Jill Heymann was second in the 100-meter hurdles in 17.28 seconds. The senior added a fourth place finish in the triple jump of 32-2 1/4 (9.81 meters). 
  • Emily Stubits was fourth in the long jump at 15-0 1/4 (4.58m) and the 100-meter hurdles 19.08.
