Alexandra Dystant Garners All-CAC Second Team Accolades for Hood Women's Track and Field

FREDERICK, Md.--First-year distance runner Alexandra Dystant of the Hood College women's track and field team pocketed her third all-Capital Athletic Conference honor at the 2012 CAC outdoor track and field championship hosted by Frostburg State University May 5-6.

Dystant, from Odenton, Md., finished second in the 1500-meter run at the 2012 CAC outdoor track and field championship to increase her compilation of all-CAC plaudits to three; she earned a pair of runner-up finishes at the inaugural CAC indoor championship in February.

Dystant shaved nearly eight seconds off her school record in the 1500 with a clocking of 4:56.21, less than four seconds off the pace set by York College (Pa.)'s Mandy Parshall.

Dystant finished her rookie campaign in the blue-and-grey by setting school records in the 1500, 800 and the 4x800-meter relay.
