Sophie Grizzle Supplements Blazer Women's Track Team

FREDERICK, Md.--Hood College women's cross country and track and field head coach Brent Ayer announced the addition of Sophie Grizzle of Brunswick High School in Frederick to his 2010-11 women's cross country and track rosters.

A varsity letterwinner in cross country and track and field for the Railroaders, Grizzle was one of the top high jumpers in the state during her time at Brunswick. She finished seventh in the state as a freshman in 2007, placed third at states as a junior and finished sixth as a senior.

Grizzle copped the team's most dedicated athlete award after the 2006 indoor season, the rising star award following the 2007 outdoor season, the outstanding outdoor athlete award as a junior and the most outstanding field athlete award following the 2010 outdoor campaign.

An honor student all four years at Brunswick, Grizzle participated in the Random Acts of Kindness program, the drama club and the student government association. She is also an avid ballroom dancer.
