Arneson Wins Long Jump in Season-Opening Meet

ANNVILLE, Pa.--The Hood College women's track and field team placed fourth out of seven teams at the season-opening indoor meet Saturday at Lebanon Valley College.
Emma Arneson was Hood's lone winner on the day with a first-place showing in the long jump (15' 8 1/4"), outdistancing Megan Inama of King's College by 4 1/4". Arneson was also second in the 55-meter hurdles in 10.16.
Mollie Widdowson was sixth in the 55-meter hurdles in 11.21 and 12th in the 300 meters (57.03).
Chloe Ey took sixth in both the long jump (12' 11 3/4") and the 300 meters (49.23).
Becky Leathers placed ninth in the one mile run in 6:12.63.
Megan Cahill crossed the tape ninth in the 300 meters in 50.22 and eighth in the prelims of the 55-meter dash. Patsy Davis (57.56) and Lacey Kelley (58.80) also ran in the 300.
Kayla Murphy (28' 2 3/4") and Krista Zerby (25' 5 1/2") took third and fourth, repsectively, in the weight throw. Zerby also placed eighth in the shot with a mark of 23' 11 3/4".
Hood travels to Ursinus College for the Frank Colden Invitational Saturday at 9 a.m.
