Blazers Featured in CAC Top Times List

FREDERICK, Md.--The Hood College men and women’s track and
field teams have had 18 top-six performances in the Capital
Athletic Conference this season, two of which have been league-best
times.
The Blazers have two weeks to prepare for the CAC Championships at
York College (Pa.), where the top six performances will earn points
towards the team scores.
The Hood women have two runners who own the top times in the
conference. Freshman Jessica Parrish holds the fastest 100-meter
dash (12.87) and junior Danielle Sgro ran a conference best
42:20.90 in the 10000 meters. Parrish also ranks second in the long
jump, with a leap of 15’ 5.5’’.
Also for the Blazers, freshman Lauren Smith ran a fifth-best 3000
steeplechase (12:45.00), while Hood’s 4x100 meter relay team
finished with a third-best 54.59 and the 4x400 relay squad ran a
fourth-best 5:11.80.
In the hammer throw, freshman Kayla Murphy owns the fourth-best
mark with a toss of 87’ 0’’. Sophomore Erica
Hamor ranks third in the CAC in the javelin
(87’3’’), and freshman Natashia Matos ranks
fourth (80’11’’) in that event. All of the
