Hood Women's Tennis Trounces Trinity (D.C.), 9-0
WASHINGTON, D.C.--The Hood College women's tennis team (6-10) posted a lopsided 9-0 nonconference victory over the Trinity (D.C.) University Tigers (1-9) Friday.
The Blazers surrendered just 10 games combined in the nine singles and doubles matches to secure their first blanking of the season.
Hood cruised to 8-0 wins in all three doubles matches while Kirsten Friend and Sandra Dziadas posted 6-0, 6-0 wins at fourth and fifth singles, respectively. Emily Maerz won her fourth match in a row at No. 1, while Emily Schrodel won her third straight and Casey Miller evened her record at the No. 3 spot at 3-3. Mabie Tun won her first match at No. 6 and is now 2-2 in singles on the season.
Hood will celebrate Senior Day Saturday at Baker Park and recognize Schrodel, Miller and Laura Saad before taking on the York College (Pa.) Spartans at 11 a.m. in a Capital Athletic Conference match.
