DOVER, Del.--The Hood College women's tennis team (4-3, 1-2 CAC) won 2-of-3 doubles matches and three singles matches to edge the Welsey College Wolverines (2-5, 0-4 CAC), 5-4, Wednesday in a Capital Athletic Confernece match.

Stephanie Garrett and Laura Wanner captured straight set victories at fifth and sixth singles, respectively, while Morgan Wright outlasted Jessica Lambert and the No. 3 spot, 5-7, 7-5, 7-5 (2-1).

In doubles action, Christine Ocampos-Barry and Larisa Buriak bested Lauren Tarver and Rebecca Pennington 9-8 (11-9) in a marathon match at the No. 1 spot. Wright and Wanner rolled over Taylor Blackiston and Amanda Buet, 8-0, at third doubles.

The Blazers have now won three matches in a row and return home to host York College (Pa.) Thursday at the Baker Park Tennis Courts.
