Women's Swimming Captures First Win of Season Versus Notre Dame


FREDERICK, Md.--The Hood College women's swim team (1-2) won 11 events en route to a 144-105 nonconference victory over the College of Notre Dame (Md.) Saturday at the Hood Aquatics Center.

Senior captain Lenore Brown was a triple winner in the 100 back (1:07.46), the 50 free (27.94) and the 500 free (5:53.15). Classmate Amy Kaufman claimed top honors in the 200 free (2:07.01) and the 200 back (2:27.13) while sophomore Erica Hamor also doubled, capturing the 200 fly (2:39.27) and the 100 free (1:00.78). Other winners for the Blazers included junior Ashley Garyn in the 1000 free (12:52.04), freshman Kim Wolfgang in the 100 breast (1:18.83) and freshman Leah Chomlek in the 200 breast (3:01.59).

The Blazers are idle until Nov. 30 when they travel to Ashland, Va., for the two-day Randolph-Macon Invitational.
