Hand-Solomon Wins 100-Yard Backstroke at Misericordia

DALLAS, Pa. - The Hood College women's swim team fell to both Lycoming and Misericordia in a tri-meet hosted by the Cougars.

  • Misericordia defeated Hood 182.5-58.5
  • Lycoming defeated Hood 163-79
  • Misericordia defeated Lycoming 181.5-79.5

How it Happened

  • Brianna Hand-Solomon had the only win for the Blazers, taking the victory in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:04.02. She added a pair of second place finishes to an impressive afternoon. She swam a 26.66 in the 50 freestyle for second place and tied for second in the 200 backstroke in 2:21.38. 
  • Kate Sanborn had two second place finishes and a third place. She finished second in the 100 breaststroke in 1:14.39 and in the 200 breaststroke in 2:42.66. Sanborn's third place finish was in the 400 individual medley in 5:22.59. 
  • Miranda Smith was second in both of the distance freestyle events. She swam the 1,000 free in 12:13.66 and completed the 500 in 5:59.49.
