FREDERICK, Md. - The 200-yard medley relay team set its second school record of the season as Hood College won nine of the 11 events in a 124-81 victory over visiting Lycoming.

The quartet of Shannon McHale (Hauppauge, N.Y. / Hauppauge), Shannon Welch (Henderson, Nev. / Las Vegas Academy of the Arts), Lauren Fogarty (Arnold, Md. / Broadneck) and Ashley Griffin (Littlestown, Pa. / Delone Catholic) swam a 1:55.66 to win the day's first event in record time. Hood's old standard had come just two weeks ago at 1:57.19.

McHale, Fogarty and Griffin would go on to win two more events apiece on the afternoon.

Fogarty won both the 1,000-yard freestyle and the 200-yard individual medley. She captured the 1,000 free with a time of 11:30.51, over 31 seconds faster than her nearest competitor. She then swam a 2:18.60 in the 200 IM for a four-second victory.

Making her collegiate debut in impressive fashion, Griffin turned in victories in a pair of freestyle events. She won the 50-yard free by nearly a second over the competition with a time of 26.21. In the 100-yard free, she swam a 56.55, almost 1.5 seconds ahead of teammate Anne Lessard (Natick, Mass. / Natick).
