Hood Women Fall in Double Dual With PSU Altoona, Juniata
ALTOONA, Pa.--The Hood College women's swim team (0-10) came up short in a double dual with Penn State Altoona (77-23) and Juniata College (46-42) Saturday in the Blazers' final regular season competition of the year.
Kristen Kucharski came in fourth in both the 50 free (29.15) and 100 back (1:14.41).
Taryn Scafide was third in both the 1000 free (14:59.23) and 200 IM (3:01.92) and fifth in the 100 back (1:21.33).
Jen Graham took fourth in both the 1000 free (15:45.67) and 200 IM (3:37.84) and was fifth in the 500 free (7:41.85).
Aleece Groom finished fourth in the 200 free (2:21.41) and third in the 100 fly (1:15.95).
Catherine Brown placed sixth in the 200 free (3:20.73) and fifth in both the 50 free (36.04) and 100 free (1:26.56).
Erica Hamor came in a close second in the 100 free (1:00.48) and took third in the 100 breast (1:17.70).
Andrea Haines was fourth in the 500 free (7:06.95) and fifth in the 100 breast (1:29.83).
The 200 medley relay team of Kucharski, Haines, Hamor and Groom touched the wall second in 2:14.20.
Hood has two weeks off to taper for the Capital Athletic Conference championships, which begin Feb. 12 at St. Mary's College (Md.).
