Former Division I standout Mamadou Kansaye joins the Hood College coaching staff in 2016. 

Kansaye played collegiately at UMBC where he was named the America East Midfielder of the Year as a senior, when he helped the Retrievers to the College Cup. A two-year team captain, he was named a 2014 NCAA Senior CLASS Award nominee and was named to the NSCAA All-East Region, All-ECAC and All-America East first teams that same year. His all-conference nod was the second of his career. 

He played professionally for the Charlotte Independence of the United Soccer League during the 2015 season. Kansaye plays for FC Christos and scored a goal against DC United in the 2017 US Open Cup.

Kansaye is a U15 and U16 boys' assistant coach for the Ellicott City Soccer Club. He previously coached with the Waxhaw Soccer Academy and Baltimore Celtic U17 boys. Additionally, he has worked at the UMBC ID camp. 

A 2015 graduate of UMBC, Kansaye earned a bachelor's degree in psychology.
