ANNVILLE, Pa. - Hood College's Elien Comhaire was named to the Academic All-Middle Atlantic Conference Women's Soccer team. 

A total of 11 women's soccer student-athletes were recognized for academic and athletic excellence.

Comhaire, a junior, adds to a list of academic accolades from the 2017 season. She was previously named to both the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District® 2 First Team and the MAC Academic Honor Roll.  

She led the Blazers in assists (5), ranked second in points (13) and tied for second in goals (4). A versatile player, the Oakdale graduate appeared at forward, midfield, and on defense this season. Comhaire scored goals against Eastern Mennonite, Immaculata, St. Vincent, and Goucher. She has has made Dean's List every semester, and won both the Sidney Silverman Biology Award and the George G. Kleinspehn Honor Scholarship. 

The MAC sports information directors nominate and vote for the Academic All-MAC teams, giving 50 percent weight on both academic success and athletic success. A student-athlete must have a fall semester grade-point average (GPA) of 3.20 or higher to be eligible for the award.
