Women's Soccer Wins on Last Second OT Goal

FREDERICK, Md. – Hood College's Arianna McCardle knocked a shot off the cross bar into the goal with just 5.2 seconds left in overtime to lead the Blazers to a 2-1 win over Eastern Mennonite.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Hood trailed for much of the game, including into the 90th minute, when a shot by Jordan Bailey hit the right post. Elien Comhaire cleaned up the rebound to tie the game with 57 seconds left.
  • The Blazers held possession for much of the match's first 20th minutes. The Royals reversed field and Ariel Barbosa lobbed a long shot over the keeper from outside the box.

  • Rachel Knoebel made one save.
  • Bailey picked up the assist on Comhaire's goal.
  • The Blazers outshot EMU 13-4.

  • Hood improves to 4-1-1, the best six-match start in school history.
