FREDERICK, Md.--Freshman defender Jessica Devine of the Hood College women's soccer team was named Capital Athletic Conference athlete of the week Monday for leading the Blazers to a 2-0-1 week.

The native of Elkton, Md., scored three goals and assisted on a fourth as the Blazers extended their unbeaten streak to seven matches (6-0-1) dating back to Sept. 9. Devine started the week with a goal in each half of a 2-2 tie against Goucher College Tuesday. She followed that by scoring the first goal in a 2-0 win over Shenandoah University a day later. Saturday, Devine assisted on the game-tying score in what proved to be a 3-1 win over Washington College.

After scoring just one goal in Hood's first six games, Devine has now scored at least one point in the last six consecutive games and is fourth on the team with 15 points (seven goals, one assist).

The Blazers (7-4-1, 3-2 CAC), currently in sixth place in the Capital Athletic Conference, travel to Stevenson University Tuesday for a conference game at 4 p.m.
