DeSisto's Score Sends Hood to 1-0 Win over Marymount

FREDERICK, Md.--Senior Courtney DeSisto had a memorable Senior Day as she scored the lone goal of the contest to lift the Hood College women's soccer team (7-10, 3-5 CAC) to a 1-0 Capital Athletic Conference victory Tuesday at Thomas Athletic Field.
DeSisto netted the 10th goal of her career in the blue and gray in the 23rd minute off a rebound. Freshman Chelsea Kinna had a scoring chance denied by Saint keeper Lauren Harris but the ball deflected off her hands and right to DeSisto who ripped it home for the score.
Marymount had two prime chances to net the equalizer in the closing minutes. A shot by Sarah Kaye hit the crossbar in the 87th minute and Hood keeper Rachelle Buhrman made a diving save to her left to deny Alisha Parker with just 17 seconds left in the contest.
Buhrman tallied the seventh shutout of her rookie campaign as Hood picked up its third win in four games. The Blazers finished the 2007 regular season with a 5-2 mark at home.
Hood wraps up the regular season at Goucher College Thursday before participating in their first ever CAC tournament Sunday at an opponent to be determined.
