Blazers Overwhelm Wilson, 9-0, for First Win of Fall

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.--Sophomore Nikki Antalffy netted a hat trick and five other Blazers scored as the Hood College women's soccer team (1-6) broke out of its scoring slump in a big way Tuesday with a 9-0 trouncing of Wilson College.

Antalffy became the eighth player in Hood women's soccer history to record a hat trick, as the Blazers ended a six-game scoring drought with one of the most impressive offensive performances in program history. Hood's nine-goal outburst against its former Atlantic Women's Colleges Conference rival is one away from tying the single-game record of 10 set against Trinity University last season. The Blazers have shutout the Phoenix five times in nine all-time meetings, including the last three in a row.

Freshman Cara Jordan netted the first two goals of her Blazer career, while Katherine Rendon, Jessica Parrish and Chelsea Kinna also recorded their first scores in the blue and gray. Senior Kristina Rendon registered the 11th goal of her Hood career to round out the scoring.

Also of note, freshman Alexa Hubicki tied the school record with three assists on the afternoon. She shares the record with teammate Antalffy, who equaled that feat last season in the decisive victory over Trinity. Jordan, Parrish, Kristina Rendon and Brittany Hurt also added assists for Hood.

Freshman Rachelle Buhrman notched her first shutout of the season and made two saves on the day.

Hood looks to make it two in a row Wednesday at Frostburg State University. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
