Greensboro Upends Women's Soccer, 3-0

GREENSBORO, N.C.--The Hood College women's soccer team (0-2)
fell to the host Greensboro College Pride, 3-0, Sunday in a
non-conference game at Pride Field.
Michelle Reger opened the scoring at the 25:36 mark of the first
half on a shot from 16 yards out to stake the Pride (1-0) to an
early lead. Greensboro continued to pepper Hood keeper Rachelle
Buhrman with shots throughout the afternoon. The Pride outshot the
Blazers 20-3 in the contest but clung to a narrow 1-0 lead at
halftime.
In the second half, the Pride netted a pair of goals in the final
nine minutes to seal the victory. Ashley Cabral and Juanita Lara
added single tallies for Greensboro.
Buhrman finished with seven stops while Pride goalie Shana
Saganich turned away all three Blazer shot attempts on the day.
The Blazers make their Capital Athletic Conference debut Wednesday
hosting the York College (Pa.) Spartans at 4 p.m. at Thomas
Athletic Field. York, which has won both of its non-conference
affairs this fall, captured the 2006 CAC regular season title and
advanced to the conference semifinals.
