FREDERICK, Md.--Hood College freshman forward Whitney Boyer was named the Atlantic Women's Colleges Conference Soccer Player of the Week Tuesday.

Boyer, who starred at nearby Middletown High School, scored six goals last week to help lead the Blazers to a perfect 3-0 record.

She scored twice in a 3-0 win over Wilson last Wednesday and followed with her first career hat trick in a 10-0 victory against Trinity (D.C.) Thursday.

Boyer added another goal in Hood's 2-0 shutout of Chatham Saturday.

For the season, Boyer leads the Blazers with nine goals and 19 points.

Hood is currently 4-3-1 overall and sits atop the AWCC with a 4-0 mark. The Blazers visit defending AWCC champion College of Notre Dame (Md.) Wednesday at 4 p.m. in a rematch of last season's conference title contest.
