Women's Soccer Downs Trinity

FREDERICK, Md.--Freshman Whitney Boyer recorded her first career hat trick and fellow freshman Nicole Antalffy added a goal and three assists to lead the Hood College women's soccer team to a 10-0 win over Trinity (D.C.) University in an Atlantic Women's Colleges Conference match Thursday afternoon at Thomas Athletic Field.

The Blazers (3-3-1, 2-0-0 AWCC) put on a dominating performance, opening an 8-0 halftime lead. Boyer scored three of Hood's first five goals, while Antalffy recorded all of her points in the opening stanza.

Junior Tamara Maggard had a goal and an assist in the first half, while freshmen Brittany Hurt, Laura Hines and Jessica Nease also found the net.

Juniors Courtney DeSisto and Liz Foreman added second-half goals to complete the scoring.

Freshman Nina Duron made four saves to earn her third shutout in the last four games.

Hood returns to action Saturday when it visits Chatham College for an AWCC match at 1 p.m.
