Women's Soccer Shuts Out Wells to Give Wood First Victory

FREDERICK, Md.--The Hood College women's soccer team posted a 2-0 win over Wells College to give Jen Wood her first victory as the program's head coach Saturday afternoon at Thomas Athletic Field.

The Blazers (1-2-1, 1-0-0 Atlantic Women's Colleges Conference) needed less a minute to open the scoring as senior Tamara Maggard found the net off an assist from freshman Whitney Boyer.

Boyer capped the scoring just three minutes into the second half with an unassisted goal.

Freshman Nina Duron made three saves to record her first career win and first career shutout.

The Blazers return to action Tuesday when they host Waynesburg College in a non-conference match at 4 p.m.
