FREDERICK, Md. - Hood College women's lacrosse coach Molly O'Brien has announced the Blazers' recruiting class.

The group consists of one attack, three midfielders and three defenders. Five players are recent high school graduates, while two are transfers. Only one of transfers has used athletic eligibility, giving the class six freshmen and one sophomore.

"I am very happy to welcome these student athletes into our Hood College Blazer family," said Coach O'Brien. "These young ladies all bring different qualities that will be imperative to the success of this program and are expected to make an immediate impact."

They join a team that set a school record with 38 free position goals and the team's 147 goals were the second highest single season total in school history. The 37-goal improvement over the previous season was fueled by a school-record 45 goals by Jade Locklear. She also set school records for points (55) and draw controls (84). She was joined on the All-Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth team by Lauren Couch. Eight players were named to the MAC Academic Honor Roll for their performance in the classroom.
