READING, Pa. - Hood College concluded its season with a 19-3 defeat at the hands of Albright College in Commonwealth Conference action.
The Lions jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the first 12 minutes of the first half. Giuliana Rizzoti and Erin Farrell had two goals each in the run.
The Blazers got on the scoreboard at 16:41 when Brigid Ayer (Frederick, Md. / Frederick) took a pass from April Ganz (Germantown, Md. / Seneca Valley) and found the back of the net. Three minutes later Ayer assisted on Ashley Kitzmiller's (Westminster, Md. / Manchester Valley) goal to make the score 9-2.
Albright scored four times in the last 12:12 of the half to take a 13-2 halftime lead.
Kayla Knott (Thurmont, Md. / Catoctin) recorded Hood's lone goal in the second half, coming at 20:44 to cut the deficit to 16-3. Megan Feldtmose (Hereford, Pa. / Perkiomen) had the assist on the goal.
Rizzoti had a game-high six goals and added two assists with five draw controls. Amanda Smith had seven draw controls and Nicole Klusewitz caused four turnovers.
Taylor McGaughey (New Market, Md. / Oakdale) finished her first season with 12 assists, which ties for the seventh-best season in school history.
Couch made 13 saves to bring her season total to 174, the fourth-best single season total in Hood. She now has 390 career saves, moving her into second all-time at Hood. The career mark is 431 held by Lauren Lieb from 2005-2008.
